Barramundi fishing on charter

Barramundi Fishing

Fishing enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities to ply their craft on the waterways surrounding Burketown. Whether you are on the Albert, Nicholson, Leichhardt, or Gregory river, there's a catch to be found.

Remember, Barramundi prefer warmer weather; they love live bait but also respond very well to hard-bodied lures.

If you want some expert guidance, ask one of the Yagurli tour guides or book a Fishing Charter.

Going south from Burketown

It is bitumen from Burketown all the way to Cloncurry and is about 500km, though with long, straight stretches it feels a lot longer.  Cloncurry itself has some great driving trails and you will need to drop into the Cloncurry Unearthed Visitor Centre to get a map, plus it’s a nice spot to sit down and relax for a bit.
